William ‘Fred’ Jowett was a wing who was selected to tour Australia and New Zealand in 1904 with the British Lions.
The British Lions would win 16 of 19 matches, with Jowett featuring in six victories and scoring a try in wins over New South Wales, Metropolitan Union and New England.
However, Jowett missed out on the three Test victories over Australia, as well as the sole loss to New Zealand. He was capped once by Wales and during World War One was a corporal in the Welsh ammunition column.
