Sir Gareth Edwards won his first international cap for Wales in 1967, the year before he first pulled on the famous red jersey of the Lions on their 1968 Tour to South Africa.
While he didn't score in any of the Test matches on that Tour, Edwards – who in 2003 was declared the greatest player of all time by Rugby World magazine – did manage 18 points for the Lions in their warm-up games.
Scrum-half Edwards, who won 53 caps for his country and ten for the Lions, played in all four Test matches on the 1971 Tour to New Zealand, with the Lions beating the All Blacks in a series for the first time.
He then went onto play all four Tests for the Lions three years later when they went unbeaten against the Springboks.
Edwards was knighted in 2015 for his services to rugby and charitable services.
