Welsh flanker Gary Prothero featured heavily in the 1966 Tour to Australia and New Zealand, making nine appearances in total.
The Tour was captained by Mike Campbell-Lamerton and Prothero made his Lions debut after the first Test against Australia, helping the tourists to a 26-3 win over Queensland.
He would go on to feature in eight more provincial clashes on the Tour, winning five, losing two and drawing against Bay of Plenty.
Away from the Lions Prothero, born in Beddau, played for his country 11 times, making his debut against Scotland in 1964 and scoring a solitary try in his two-year international career.
