Despite starring for Wales in their Grand Slam victories in 2005 and 2008, Gavin Henson only appeared on one Lions Tour.
The Welshman – who won 33 caps for his country – was selected by Sir Clive Woodward to tour New Zealand in 2005.
The 23-year-old impressed in the early stages of the Tour but missed out on selection for the first Test as Woodward opted to pair Tour captain Brian O’Driscoll with World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson in midfield.
But after a two-try showing in midweek against Southland and a Tour-ending injury for O’Driscoll, Henson was chosen to start the second Test against the All Black.
But the Welshman went down injured himself during the Tour to end his own involvement on a trip that saw the All Blacks win the Test series 3-0.
