Liverpool-born Gerry Williams was part of the Lions squad that toured New Zealand and Australia under coach George Harnett and captain Arthur ‘Boxer’ Harding in 1908.
A half-back, Williams would make four appearances on that Tour as he pulled on the famous Lions jersey against Otago, Southland, Hawke’s Bay and Auckland.
The Englishman helped the Lions beat Southland and Hawke’s Bay, although they suffered defeat to Otago and Auckland, and he died in March 1936.
