Gethin Jenkins equalled the Welsh record of being selected for three Lions Tours when he was included in Warren Gatland's 2013 squad to take on Australia.
Unfortunately Jenkins - who is Wales' record appearance holder with over a century of caps - did not pull on the famous red jersey on that tour Down Under as a calf injury curtailed his trip.
That was a frustration for Jenkins who started five of the six Test matches that came over the previous two tours.
In New Zealand in 2005 he started all three Test matches with the All Blacks but was powerless to prevent a series defeat.
In South Africa four years later he started the first two Tests, including being part of the Lions’ first all Wales front row since 1955 when he packed down with Matthew Rees and Adam Jones in the second Test, before a broken cheekbone ended his tour and he was again sent home.
