A veteran of three Tours, Graham Price remains the only player to feature in a record 12 successive Tests for the Lions, having first pulled on the famous red jersey in the Tour of New Zealand in 1977 having made his name with the Pontypool ‘Viet Gwent’ that monopolised the Wales front row positions.
Price – who won 41 international caps for Wales – made 15 appearances on that Tour, and was once again selected for the 1980 Tour to South Africa where he scored eight points, including a try in the first Test against the Springboks.
The prop made his final international appearances at the 1983 Tour to New Zealand, retiring after the series’ conclusion, once again playing in all four Tests to secure his name in the record books.
