Harold Davies was called out as a late replacement for the 1924 Tour to South Africa, kicking two conversions in a 20-12 win over North Eastern Districts.
The Welsh wing made his only Test appearance in the second game against the Springboks in Johannesburg, a 17-0 defeat for the tourists. In total he played nine times for the Lions.
A butcher by trade, Davies played for hometown club Newport for seven years and also captained the side. He won his only Welsh cap as part of the team which shipped eight tries in defeat to Scotland in Inverleith in 1924. Davies never represented his country again.
