Haydn Morgan began life as a centre. It wasn’t until he was called up for National Service in the Parachute Regiment that he was converted to the back row, where he played for the Army.
Powerful tackler Morgan played alongside Abertillery club-mate Alun Pask in the back row for both Wales and The British & Irish Lions.
He won 27 Wales caps and toured twice with the Lions, playing 34 games across the 1959 and 1962 Tours, scoring ten tries in the process and featuring in four Test matches.
