Ian Hunter is a former England international who could operate either on the wing or at full-back and toured with the Lions on the 1993 trip to New Zealand.

He played his club rugby with Northampton Saints but was forced to retire early after suffering a persistent shoulder injury.

He made his England debut in 1992 and scored three tries in his first two Test matches only to be dropped in favour of Tony Underwood after a narrow 10-9 loss against Wales.

He endured a stop-start international career but his form for Northampton Saints saw him selected for the 1993 tour to New Zealand with the Lions.

Again Hunter was struck down by injury after he suffered a dislocated shoulder in the opening Tour fixture against North Auckland and was unfortunately sent home.

Hunter was eventually forced to retire from professional rugby in 2001 after an injury-plagued final few campaigns for his club.
