Playing on the wing, Welshman Jack Morley formed a formidable scoring partnership with England’s Tony Novis.

The Englishman scored 17 tries in 19 appearances on the 1930 Tour of New Zealand and Australia, while Morley dotted down eight times in 14 matches.

The Welshman made his Lions debut in the Tour’s opening fixture, a 19-3 victory over Wanganui, and scored in the first Test against the All Blacks.

He would then play the next two All Blacks Tests but was left out of the final encounter, which sealed a 3-1 series loss, and the narrow 6-5 defeat to the Wallabies.
