Back rower Jamie Clinch was a veteran of 30 Tests for Ireland between 1923 and 1931.

While he never played a Test for The British & Irish Lions, the Dubliner played an important role for the midweek side on the 1924 Tour to South Africa.

He played 12 games in total for the Lions, of which the tourists won eight, and scored a valuable try in their 12-6 win over South Western Districts in Oudtshoorn.
