A permanent fixture in the Wales set-up, hooker Jeff Young was selected for the 1968 Lions Tour to South Africa, just a few months after debuting for his country against Scotland.
Young earned the nod for the first Test against the Springboks, but the emergence of England’s John Pullin kept Young out of featuring on any more occasions.
That was to be the only experience in the famous Lions jersey for Young, who featured in a further five matches on the Tour, but impressed throughout his career for Wales.
Winning more than two-thirds of the 23 games played for his country, Young was part of a star-studded Welsh line-up, claiming the Grand Slam in 1971.
