First selected by Scotland as a teenager back in 1972, centre Jim Renwick had to wait until 1980 for selection with the Lions.
An ever-willing runner with ball in hand, Renwick was deceptively quick and played 11 games in all on the Tour to South Africa.
His one try came against a South African Country Districts XV. He played in the first Test, a narrow 26-22 loss starting in the centres alongside Dai Richards, in what was to be his only Test cap for the side.
He went onto win 52 caps in all for Scotland, a record at the time, overtaking Andy Irvine in his final appearance against Romania in 1984.
