James ‘J.C.’ Hosack was never capped for his country of birth, Scotland, but nonetheless received the ultimate call-up as member of the Lions Tour to South Africa in 1903.
The forward appeared four times on Tour, scoring against Grahamstown and playing in district matches against East London, Pietermaritzburg and Durban.
Hosack lost his life at the age of just 37 in 1916.
