Jimmy Nelson OBE became a Grand Slam hero with Ireland in 1948 before playing four Tests for the British & Irish Lions in 1950.
Ulsterman Nelson first played for Ireland against Australia in 1947 and made 15 more appearances for the Men in Green.
He played 19 times for the Lions in 1950, scoring twice in the 24-3 second Test win over Australia in Sydney, while he went on to distinguish himself off the field after retiring, serving as President of the IRFU in the 1982/83 season.
