Though John Faull started the famous 1959 Lions Test victory against the All Blacks in Auckland, arguably his most-celebrated moment came as a 20-year-old when he kicked two penalties for Swansea in a famous 6-6 draw with New Zealand.
Then a centre, he would go on to establish himself as a formidable force at No.8 for both Wales and in four Test for the Lions in 1959.
He played 20 times in 1959, scoring nine tries and kicking six conversions, and started four Tests in all, one against Australia, and three more against the All Blacks.
He scored a penalty and a conversion in the third Test defeat to New Zealand in Christchurch.
