Jonathan Joseph has showed a real nose for the try-line in his international career so far and the centre will hope to continue that on his first British & Irish Lions Tour.
The Bath centre, who turns 26 in May, has scored 16 tries in his 33-cap career for the Red Rose. He is also one of very few players with a 100 percent winning record against the All Blacks.
The London Irish youth product made his international debut in the summer of 2012 against South Africa and was introduced off the bench that same autumn as England claimed a resounding win over New Zealand.
And by 2015 Joseph had established himself as a key part of the England midfield, making his RBS 6 Nations debut that year. That came against Wales, and he scored a try in Cardiff and backed that up with a double the following week against Italy.
His importance to the Stuart Lancaster regime was clear for all to see, and that has continued under new coach Eddie Jones who took over in 2016.
In fact, under Eddie Jones he has become even more prolific, he scored a hat-trick against Italy in 2016 as the Red Rose won the Grand Slam and he repeated that feat against Scotland this year.
In between those two trebles, he dotted down in the second Test of England’s 2016 three-Test whitewash of Australia and also scored four tries in that same autumn.
An extremely talented tennis player as a youth, the former Millfield pupil’s decision to choose rugby has been both England and now the Lions gain as he embarks on his Tour in the famous red jersey.
