Josh Adams toured with The British & Irish Lions for the first time in South Africa after establishing himself as one of the finest finishers in Europe.

The 26-year-old racked up 17 tries in 32 caps by the end of the 2021 Six Nations and became the first Welshman to finish as the top try-scorer at a Rugby World Cup.

He has been similarly lethal at club level, and while he was a late bloomer on the international stage, there is no question of the threat he poses when he gets hold of the ball.

Growing up in West Wales, Adams made a solitary appearance for the Scarlets before moving to England and Worcester Warriors.

In three seasons, he racked up 26 tries in the league, including 13 in the 2017/18 season to finish as the competition’s top try-scorer.

That was enough to earn him international recognition and a first Test try on a tour to Argentina.

He scored three more tries in Wales’ 2019 Grand Slam before scoring seven at the World Cup in Japan including a hat-trick against Fiji.

Another hat-trick in the 2020 Six Nations game against Italy, while he scored a try in each of his three appearances in the 2021 Championship as Wales claimed the title.

Now playing his club rugby back in Wales, with the Cardiff Blues, Adams took that fine try-scoring record with him on the Lions Tour.

He scored eight tries in five appearances, including the first of the summer against Japan, four against the Sigma Lions and a hat-trick against the Cell C Sharks.

Adams concluded his first Lions Tour by earning his first Test cap in the famous red jersey in the series decider against the Springboks.
