Louis Greig studied medicine at Glasgow University, and as well as being renowned as a superb rugby player, was also gifted at tennis.
But the Scotsman eventually made his way down south, playing for the United Services Portsmouth, and also being invited to become a Lion in 1903.
Greig partnered Patrick Hancock in the half-back for all three Tests – the Lions lost the series 1-0 – and played 16 times in total in South Africa.
In his later life, Greig served as a surgeon during World War One and was also a confidant of King George VI.
