Mick Galwey is a legend in Munster – playing more than 100 times for the Irish side at lock between 1987 and 2003.
He enjoyed a stop-start career for Ireland, making his debut in 1991 and eventually retiring in 2002 after earning 41 caps.
His performances for Munster and Ireland earned him selection on the 1993 British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand, where he featured seven times for the midweek side.
He scored his only try in a 28-10 win over Canterbury in his second match of the Tour.
In his early career he was a key figure for Shannon Rugby Club, playing an instrumental role as they claimed four back-to-back All-Ireland titles in the 1990s.
He was also an outstanding Gaelic footballer, and is the only winner of the All-Ireland title in both football and rugby.
