Mike Dunne made ten appearances on The British & Irish Lions Tour to New Zealand and Australia in 1930, scoring a try against Poverty Bay/East Coast, but didn’t earn a Test cap.

The Irish lock played 16 times for his country, making his international debut in a 6-0 victory over France in Paris on New Years Eve 1928.

After his retirement, Dunne spent seven years as honorary secretary of Lansdowne RFC in Dublin was elected as club president for 1949/50.
