Mike Teague was a menacing back-rower who played for England at the 1991 World Cup and featured in total on 27 occasions for his country.

He played his club rugby for Gloucester and after retiring aged 34 at the end of the 1994/1995 season he was appointed to the newly created post of Cherry and Whites team manager.

Teague, who was a builder, was selected for The 1993 British & Irish Lions Tour to New Zealand, where he made eight appearances and also featured in the second Test match against the All Blacks.

He made his international bow in 1985 aged just 24 – he came on to replace Jon Hall during a tight 9-9 draw with France at Twickenham.

He was a key component as England won the 1991 Five Nations Grand Slam and also played his part in helping England to reach the World Cup final the same year.
