Englishman Nigel Horton made a name for himself while playing club rugby for Moseley, beginning his career with the Birmingham club in 1969.

After eight years of international rugby, with England, the lock was selected for his one and only Lions Tour and made the long trip to New Zealand.

He made his debut against Wairarapa/Bush in the Tour’s opening fixture, a game the Lions would go on to win 41-13, but never made a Test appearance in the famous red shirt.

Horton won all four of his games in a Lions jersey and after returning to Moseley he became a pioneer of English rugby, moving to France to play for Saint-Claude for five years, from 1980.
