Born in the rugby hotbed of Neath to English parents, Oliver Piper would go on to represent Cork Constitution, Ireland and The British & Irish Lions between 1909 and 1910.

Piper was the son of a prominent ship merchant and Piper’s rugby career would eventually be curtailed when he took up a place in the family company.

He played eight internationals at prop for the Men in Green and despite being on the winning side just two times, he was selected to Tour South Africa in 1910, starting the first Test at Ellis Park which The Lions lost 14-10.
