Paul Dodge was a late injury replacement for Welsh centre Dai Richards for the 1980 Lions Tour of South Africa and played in the final two Tests.

The English centre, who played regularly alongside Clive Woodward at Leicester Tigers, scored a try in his first game of the Tour against the Junior Springboks and made five appearances in total, coming in for Woodward in the third Test.

He earned 32 caps for England after making his debut against Wales in 1978, the same game Gareth Edwards won his 50th cap, and was a core part of the squad that won the Grand Slam in 1980.

In retirement, Dodge served as a Leicester Tigers backs coach then as a youth team coach before becoming President of the club.
