Percy Diggle formed part of the Combined British team who contested a six-match tour to Argentina, which included the first Test of the Pumas’ history.

Of those representing the Combined British, only four had played international rugby previously with Diggle among the majority stepping into the unknown.

They would go unbeaten throughout the Tour, including beating Argentina 28-3 in Buenos Aires – although Diggle did not appear in that match.

Back home he represented Oxford University and his home county of Cumberland while his life after rugby involved working in the legal profession.
