Scotland back row Pete Kininmonth made 16 appearances in a Lions jersey during his one Tour of duty with the side in 1950.

Although he was born in Cheshire, Kininmonth represented Scotland on the international stage and on the domestic front played for Oxford University after being educated at the famous Sedbergh School.

Kininmonth captained his country and went on to win three Lions caps during the 1950 Tour to New Zealand and Australia.

The versatile forward drew one and lost two of his trio of Test appearances in a Lions jersey, and, after playing in two wins over provincial sides in Australia, did not feature in the Test side to play against the Wallabies.

In later life Kininmonth went on to be a successful businessman, and was also the High Sheriff of London from 1979 to 1980.
