Powerful lock Peter Larter started in one Test match against South Africa in 1968 as the Lions suffered a 3-0 series defeat.
He played 12 games on the Tour in all, and started the second Test alongside Willie John McBride in the second row. The Lions drew the Test 6-6.
Larter had made his England debut in a 23-11 defeat to Australia at Twickenham in 1967, and went on to win 24 caps in six years.
He played club rugby for Northampton while based at RAF North Luffenham, and also enjoyed a spell at Stafford.
