Llanelli’s Peter Morgan made his international debut off the bench against Scotland in Cardiff in 1980, aged just 21, before a first Test start a fortnight later, lining up at fly-half against Ireland.

Those performances were enough to earn him a place in the Lions squad that travelled to South Africa in 1980 under the leadership of Bill Beaumont.

Although not selected for any of the Test matches, Morgan played in seven regional encounters, scoring a try in the narrow 23-19 win over Griqualand West in the penultimate match of the Tour.

He can also claim to be unbeaten while taking to the field for the British & Irish Lions having not tasted defeat in any of the Tour matches.

Morgan made four appearances in all for Wales while since retiring, he has entered the world of business as well as working as Chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council.
