Cardiff-born Reginald ‘Reggie’ Gibbs played his club rugby predominantly for Cardiff RFC, and in 1906, made his international debut for Wales against Scotland.
In total, he won 16 caps for his country, captaining the side on one occasion, and scored 17 tries in a Wales shirt, establishing a Welsh record that stood until Gareth Edwards broke it in 1976.
Gibbs was selected for the 1908 Tour to New Zealand and Australia, playing in two of the three Test matches as well as 14 other fixtures.
The winger scored 13 tries on the Tour, including the visitors’ only points in the opening Test defeat to the All Blacks.
