Richard Sharp may have only been capped 16 times for England and the Lions, but impressed enough to earn captaincy for his country as well as playing in two Tests on the Tour.
The Tour in question came in 1962 in South Africa, with the fly-half scoring 45 points in 11 games in South Africa, opening and closing his campaign with a try.
Sharp was to first get the nod for the third Test, replacing Gordon Waddell, impressing enough to earn his place in the series finale.
His grand moment was to come in the 1963 Five Nations, helping England in a dramatic win over Wales in Cardiff, their first for almost 30 years, while his outstanding 40-yard try, helped secure success.
Sharp was also notable for having the Bernard Cornwell character Richard Sharp, immortalised by Sean Bean in the TV series, named after him.
