Richard Webster played flanker for Wales and made 13 appearances for his country between 1987 and 1993.
Born in Swansea in 1967 and educated at Cefn Hengoed Comprehensive, Webster played his club rugby for Bonymaen Youth and also Swansea.
He was selected for The 1993 British & Irish Lions Tour of New Zealand, where he made seven appearances on the trip.
On the Tour he played against North Auckland, North Harbour, Southland, Taranaki, Auckland, Hawkes Bay and Waikato. He scored tries in the games against North Harbour and Hawkes Bay.
Webster is a dual-code international rugby union and league player – he switched codes in 1995 and played for the Salford City Reds, he also appeared in the Rugby League World Cup the same year.
In 2011 Webster was appointed head coach of the Wales U20 national side following the departure of Darren Edwards.
