Robert Green was a member of the 1908 Lions squad that toured New Zealand and Australia under coach George Harnett and captain Arthur ‘Boxer’ Harding.
Born in Aberystwyth in 1881, Green was one of 14 forwards selected for the 1908 Tour, where the Lions lost two and drew one of their three Tests against the All Blacks.
The Neath man played in four matches on that Tour – pulling on the famous jersey against Marlborough/Nelson Bays, Hawke’s Bay, Western Districts and Metropolitan.
