Ronnie Cowan’s time in the famous Lions jersey may have been short, but he certainly made the most of his opportunities on the 1962 Tour of South Africa.
The winger was to only play in the final Test, but made his mark to cross as the Lions although they went down 34-14.
That Test marked the final international appearance for Cowan, who made just six appearances for Scotland before switching codes to enjoy an illustrious career in rugby league.
His one Lions Test berth was one of ten games on the Tour for Cowan, and he scored a further three tries including two against North-East Districts.
