Irish international Ronnie Lamont toured with the Lions in 1966 to Australia and New Zealand, winning four caps against the All Blacks.

The back row made his Ireland debut in 1965, the first of 12 as a No 8 but he was also an effective flanker and earned five in the position.

Lamont did not feature in the two-match series against Australia, which the Lions won 2-0, but scored once in his four matches against New Zealand in the second part of the Tour.

Despite the series defeat to the All Blacks, Lamont still impressed, and was selected by the New Zealand Rugby Alamanac as one of its players of the year in 1967.
