Stuart Barnes was capped on ten occasions by England, making his international debut against Australia in 1984. He also featured for the Barbarians against Wales in 1990.
His performances for club side Bath earned him selection for The 1993 British & Irish Lions Tour of New Zealand, where he featured eight times for the midweek side, amassing 33 points.
He played for Oxford University in the annual Varsity fixture, where he came up against Cambridge fly-half and fellow 1993 Lions tourist Rob Andrew.
Barnes enjoyed a trophy-filled club career, starting off life at Newport, before heading to Bristol but it was his nine-year spell with Bath that the fly-half is best remembered for.
After his playing career concluded, Barnes became a journalist and also a broadcaster with Sky Sports.
