Tom Curry returns for a second British & Irish Lions Tour and will hope to play an equally pivotal role this time around.

Curry started all three Tests during the Tour of South Africa in 2021 and has continued to operate at the top of the game for both Sale Sharks and England since then.

Curry has solidified his status as one of the world’s best back-rowers, despite battling against a number of injuries.

The flanker underwent hip surgery that ruled him out of the entirety of the 2023-24 season, including the 2024 Six Nations but returned in style to start every match in the 2025 Six Nations, and was named as part of the Team of the Championship.

During that tournament, he also started alongside twin brother Ben for the first time in an England jersey.

Curry began his rugby journey at Crewe & Nantwich, before progressing through the Sale Sharks pathway.

He boasts an impressive rugby lineage, with his father David Curry playing for Rosslyn Park, while his uncle John Olver played for England.

Curry won a Grand Slam in the 2017 Under-20 Six Nations and was soon called up to the senior squad.

He made his full England debut against Argentina aged 18 years and 360 days, becoming the youngest player to start an England international for 90 years.

He quickly became a key cog for his country. He started every match of the 2019 Six Nations and then featured heavily in England’s run to the 2019 World Cup final.

Curry’s performances were recognised with a nomination for the 2019 World Rugby Men’s 15s Player of the Year.

The flanker won the 2020 Six Nations with England and captained his nation for the first time against Scotland in 2022.

Curry featured at his second Rugby World Cup in 2023, helping England to a third-place finish.

Domestically, Curry finished as a runner-up in the 2023 Premiership final with Sale Sharks.
