Born in Limerick, Tom Reid made his international debut in 1953 against England, going on to make 12 further appearances in the green jersey of Ireland.
The lock, who played his club rugby for Garryowen in his hometown before moving to Munster, was selected to tour South Africa in 1955 with the Lions, where he made 12 appearances.
Two of those came in Test matches against the Springboks, including the third which the tourists won 9-6 in Pretoria.
