Tommy David made his international debut for Wales in 1973 after winning Welsh Player of the Year in 1972 and made 19 appearances for the Barbarians including the 1973 victory over New Zealand.
A year later the flanker was on the Lions Tour to South Africa, arguably the most successful Lions Tour to date, where he scored five tries in nine appearances but didn’t pick up a Test cap.
David’s final appearance for Wales was in 1976 and he eventually switched to rugby league in 1981 where he played for Cardiff City Blue Dragons and once again went on to represent his country against Australia and England.
