Trefor Evans played in 14 of the 26 games on the 1977 Tour to New Zealand, but made just the one Test appearance.

The Chorley-born flanker represented Wales ten times and scored two tries in a three-year international career.

He made his Lions debut in the Tour’s opening game against Wairarapa/Bush, which the tourists won 41-13, but did not make the Test side again after being part of the side that lost the first encounter with the All Blacks 16-12.

Evans went on to make eight more starts on the Tour, winning the first seven, but never got a second Test cap.

The Wales international represented Amman United and Swansea in the domestic game, and also played for the Barbarians in a distinguished career.
