Trevor Lloyd only played on two occasions for Wales, but winning both his international appearances in 1953 earned him a place on the Tour to South Africa with the Lions two years later.
The Test side was a step too far, but Lloyd was able to impress in the Tour matches, kicking four conversions against North-East Districts in one of his six matches in the famous Lions jersey.
A scrum-half, Lloyd’s club experience came in abundance, leading Maestag RFC for three seasons and also finishing his club career with home town outfit Aberavon Harlequins immediately after his trip to South Africa.
His talents were not to end there however, as he began a career in coaching after giving up his playing days in 1959.
