Wing Trevor Ringland scored five tries in the 1983 Tour to New Zealand and also featured in the centenary match against a Rest of the World XV in 1986.
The Irishman scored four tries in his first three appearances in the famous red jersey, including a double against Manawatu.
It was enough to earn him a start in the first Test, which the Lions narrowly lost 16-12.
Though Ringland did not feature in another Test he played in four more encounters with provincial sides, scoring in the 41-3 win over Southland.
After retiring from rugby Ringland worked as a full-time solicitor and in 2006 was appointed a member of the new Northern Ireland Policing Board.
He was awarded an MBE in 2009 for services to the community in Northern Ireland.
