James ‘Tuan’ Jones was one of four rugby-playing brothers and went on the 1908 Lions Tour of New Zealand and Australia, alongside one of his siblings Jack.
Jones played in 17 matches on that Tour, including two Tests against the All Blacks, and scored five tries in total – two of which came against Queensland Reds.
The Pontypool-born back was a doctor by trade and captained both Guy’s Hospital and Blackheath while also making one appearance for Wales in 1913.
He later emigrated to Australia and was introduced to the 1959 Lions team when they toured Down Under.
