William Bromet was one of two brothers selected for the 1891 Lions Tour to South Africa and earned the call-up due to his strong play for Oxford University and England.
A powerful forward, he featured 19 times for the Lions on the Tour, including in all three Test matches, which were all won by the tourists.
In the second and third Test he played alongside brother Edward, the only time the pair featured on the same team.
He ended up winning 12 caps for England with his last appearance coming against Ireland at Leeds in his native Yorkshire in 1896.
