Born in County Durham, William Thorman was an English forward who toured with the Lions in 1891 to South Africa.
Although he did not feature in the Test series for Bill Maclagan’s team, he made six appearances on the Tour in the first six games.
Having studied at Cambridge University, Thorman returned home and worked as a doctor and a surgeon.
