Scotsman Willie Welsh pulled on a Lions jersey 15 times on the 1930 Tour to New Zealand and Australia, but made just one Test appearance.
The dual-code player made his Lions debut in the opening fixture of the Tour, a 19-3 win over Wanganui.
He would go on to lose just two of his 15 starts, to Canterbury and to the All Blacks in the fourth and final Test of the series.
As well as playing both union and league, Welsh also excelled at the Sevens game and played for Hawick, later the home of Scottish great Bill McLaren.
