Lions Australia Tour 2013

Ireland full-back Geordan Murphy has described skipper Brian O’Driscoll as ”the complete centre’.

Driscoll is regarded as the top midfielder in the game and is a guaranteed Test British Lion in New Zealand this summer with the tour captaincy also his for the taking.
The 26-year-old’s ability to step his way through defences has been recognised since he took centre stage by grabbing a hat-trick of tries against France in 2000.
But Murphy believes the Leinster star has added a new dimension to his game
– by battering his way through would-be tacklers.
”Brian is a great leader. He’s very lucky that he has a talented squad but everyone knows he’s an exceptional player,’ he said.
”He’s a talisman for the side and brings confidence to the players around him. When he first came onto the scene he wasn’t quite as physically developed as he is now. That comes with age.
”But in the past couple of years he’s been putting in the hits. The game has become more physical and he’s adapted to that. He’s the complete centre now.’
