British & Irish Lions prospect Shane Horgan is undergoing tests to determine the extent of the thumb injury sustained against England in the Six Nations championship on Sunday.

Horgan finished the dramatic 19-13 victory over the world champions despite suffering the damage to his right hand, but Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan may now have to rethink his centre partnership once again.

Ireland’s next Six Nations clash is against France at Lansdowne Road on March 12 when O’Sullivan’s men will be seeking to set up a Grand Slam decider against Wales.

Gordon D’Arcy missed the England encounter with a hamstring injury but should be fit to face the French.
