Lions Australia Tour 2013

British & Irish Lions legend Keith Wood is backing Richard Hill to be named in Sir Clive Woodward’s squad to tour New Zealand this summer.

Woodward will announce his touring party on Monday and Wood believes the England star, who made a successful comeback for Saracens earlier this week following a serious knee injury, warrants a place.

He told the Western Mail: "Richard Hill is easily one of the best forwards I have ever played alongside."

Hill played for 40 minutes of a Zurich A League clash against Gloucester at Kingsholm on Monday night.

"He is a fantastic player who never stops working," Wood added.

"He is also massively under-rated, perhaps because he is a quiet fellow off the field."
